The Examination Section is headed by
Registrar (Eval.) and assisted by four Special Officers. The
examinations are conducted on semester basis and nearly 1,20,000
students (UG & PG) for each semester appear for the
examinations. Theory and practical examinations for I, II and III,
IV and V semesters have been conducted successfully during July
1999 and January 2001, respectively.
To
Summarize, an integrated systems approach has been evolved for the
effective process of vast complicated examination data by
computerisation. It is a matter of prestige to the university to
provide timely and effective announcement of results, which is
achieved for the last examinations with sincere and hard work by
the staff of the Examination Section. The results were announced
within thirty days from the last day of theory examination. The
re-valuation results were announced with a record time of three
weeks, after the announcement of main results.
The
following are the number of students appeared for the January
2000 examinations.

The Computerised Examination System (CES)
caters to the Universities having a Head Quarters with Regional
offices, which controls number of colleges.
University’s
primary responsibilities include co-ordering all activities of the
engineering colleges like verification of students admitted to
engineering curriculum, registration of students, enrolment of the
students for examinations, setting up of time table, conduction of
semester exams, evaluation and announcement of results.
Universities
required a comprehensive Information Technology setup to address
the above activities. The essential non-functional features of
University were to announce results in a very short elapsed time.
